Maria Synodinou
Founder & Lead Cultural Guide
AELION VOYAGES was born from a lifelong passion for Greece’s cultural heritage and a deep commitment to sharing its authentic spirit with the world.
Maria Synodinou is an archaeologist, licensed tour guide, and expert tour organizer based in Athens, Greece. Licensed by the Greek Ministry of Tourism, she holds a B.A. in Archaeology from the University of Ioannina and postgraduate studies from the National Technical University of Athens in monument restoration and urban planning. Her expertise is both scholarly and hands-on. A defining milestone was her apprenticeship under Stelios Triantis, one of Greece’s master sculptors and restorers of ancient masterpieces. She has participated in archaeological excavations in Western Greece, and her passions for architecture and photography bring a keen eye to every journey.
With 28 years of experience guiding diverse groups—from university scholars to private travelers—and a background in international cultural heritage projects, Maria has shaped AELION VOYAGES’ philosophy: to reveal Greece’s soul, not just its monuments.
